Valentine's Outfit Challenge

The week before Valentine's Day, I decided to set myself an outfit challenge where I followed a different 'Valentine's themed' prompt every day. I love doing outfit challenges as it pushes me to get dressed up a little on days where otherwise I might not bother (with a three year old, sometimes leggings and an oversized t-shirt are the go to choice) and gets me wearing combinations that I might not normally wear.

All of my outfits were made up of clothes and accessories I already had (there's nothing like running your own accessories business for keeping you fully stocked!). I did sew a red heart onto a black t-shirt I had for the first day, after realising I didn't own any clothes with hearts on. Doh! I did a mix of casual and more dressed up looks just to keep things varied. Some of the outfits I only wore for a few hours before changing into something a bit more practical for running round after a toddler, but kept my hair, make up and accessories on.

Taking part in a themed challenge is a great way to get yourself out of your comfort zone with your outfits and get more confident taking outfit of the day photos. You don't even need to share the photos with anyone- keep them for yourself to document your vintage journey! Joining different pin up or vintage groups on social media is a good way of finding various challenges- you can also keep an eye out for any going on on Instagram. Or why not create your own, following any theme you want (food theme? Animal theme? Planet theme? The possibilities are endless!).

Have you joined Pin Up and Pearl's pin up and vintage Facebook group Pin Up Darlings yet? I share any outfit challenges that I am doing in the group, so it might be a good place to start if you're not sure where to begin. Feel free to let me know if there's a particular theme you'd like to see!
