Super Easy Valentine's Hair Style- Faux Victory Rolls

Whether you are celebrating Valentine's Day this year or not, it's always nice to have a quick and easy hair style in your arsenal. This is style is perfect if you're just starting out in vintage. It's really simple to do and gives a vintage feel while fairly understated. I call it 'faux victory rolls' as it gives a similar silhouette as the classic victory rolls do, but is much easier for a beginner to master. It's also a lot quicker and requires less prep, which is why it's one of my go-to styles. It can be finished off nicely with a hair scarf or hair flower.

You don't need a lot for this hairstyle- a handful of bobby pins, a teasing comb, some hairspray and a hair scarf or hair flower.

  • Start by parting your hair to the side, fairly far over.

  • Next, starting with the smaller side of your part, section off a 1 inch thick section of your hair, from the parting right down to your ear.

  • Holding the section upwards, backcomb the base using the teasing brush. You only need to do it for a few seconds, just to add a little body to your hair.

  • Move the section of hair downwards, towards your ear. Twist the hair slightly while pushing forwards so that the section rises slightly at the root.

  • Pin the section in place using bobby pins, just above your ear.

  • Repeat on the other side.

  • Give head a good spritz with some hair spray.

  • Lastly, finish off with a hair scarf or hair flower (bonus points if it's a Valentine's one!). If using a scarf, tie it in a simple bow on the opposite side of your head to your parting. Secure in place with a couple of bobby pins. For your hair flower, simply pop one above your ear on either side (or really go for it and add one on each side).

And that's it. Once you've practised it once or twice, you'll see just how easy it is to do. Have fun with the style and have a happy Valentine's Day!
