For most of my life, my dream has been to have my own workshop for working in. When we moved back to the UK from America, we decided to set up home in Lincolnshire. I had an alert set up on Rightmove for our criteria for a house and as soon as the right one popped up I just knew that was the house for us. The house itself was lovely, the garden was ideal and it had two garages! This meant I finally got my studio. Over the past few years, I've been slowly getting it how I wanted but after the Christmas rush had finished on Etsy this year, I decided to really dedicate some time to getting it perfect- one of my goals for 2020 was to have a fully functional work space to get making orders as easy as possible. I did a bit of painting, a lot of sewing and a fair old bit of sweeping and after a few weeks, I had my dream space!
My workshop is important to me, not just as somewhere to work and to get orders packed but also it really is my happy place! I've always been someone who needs a lot of time to herself (call me antisocial if you like, but that's just me!) and fortunately my husband totally understands that and isn't offended when I pop off to the garage for a couple of hours. I power up the glue gun, get to work on new orders and drink a big ol' cup of coffee and go back into the house refreshed.
Where's your happy place?
